湖南大學環境科學與工程學院教授,博士生導師。主要從事環境生物技術、固體廢物處理與資源化、水污染控制工程等方面的研究與教學工作。曾在日本、法國、德國等留學、訪問、合作研究。擔任國內外多種環境類期刊審稿專家,國家自然科學基金、科技計劃項目及科技成果獎勵評審專家。
已指導碩士生67人、博士生9人;主持縱向科研課題30余項;獲國家科技進步獎二等獎1項(排名第四),湖南省科技進步獎一等獎2項(排名第四、第十),湖南省科技進步獎三等獎2項(排名第一、第三),國家級高等教育教學成果二等獎1項(排名第三),湖南省高等教育教學成果一等獎1項(排名第三);在國內外學術期刊、國際會議上發表論文100余篇;獲授權國家發明專利10余項;主持廢水處理、垃圾處理工程設計及專業規劃40余項。
